World’s Largest Firelock Media Vault
The foundation of any off-site data protection program is the physical data storage location. There is much more to a media vault than having a walled-off room or a partitioned warehouse. IG2’s facility features the largest Firelock vault in the world. IG2’s vault is Class 125 data-rated, fireproof, magnetically shielded, system-independent and can withstand 10,000 mph shock waves. Nothing else even comes close.
IG2’s cutting-edge, purpose-built Firelock™ media vault is a veritable fortress for your vital media. To learn more about IG2’s vault, please contact us to schedule a personal, no-obligation tour of our vault.
Cutting-edge Firelock Media Vault
- Class 125-4 Hour rating, laboratory tested to exceed 5 hours
Vault structure consists of high-temperature resistant ceramic fiber, structural steel and steel mesh
- Vault is a free-standing and completely enclosed “building within a building” structure (i.e., the vault does not utilize the roof of the building as the ceiling of the vault)
- Dedicated environmental control system with dehumidifier/humidification to maintain the optimum environment for media preservation
- Double door assembly featuring an 1100-pound fire door on the exterior with a separate fire-rated steel inner door, both on automatic closers triggered by a fire or power failure. Both doors are necessary to achieve a Class 125 rating.
- Green, environmentally friendly 3M Novec 1230TM fire suppression system—unlike older generations of fire suppression systems, Novec 1230 is non-toxic, does not leave any residue and is non-conductive, so in the event of discharge, it will not damage the media in the vault
- Cable tray and damper assemblies are encased in heat-resistant fiber and feature a 3-stage automatic closing mechanism that is triggered if heat is detected
- Internal vapor barrier and magnetic shielding
- Zone IV seismic construction and impact resistant
- Compliance with applicable ANSI, ASTM and NFPA standards
