Greg Stangle is founder and President of Stangle Co. Advisors and IG2. Greg is an experienced M&A investment banker advising clients on exit strategies, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions. Greg has a track record of successfully engineering the sale of private companies to public companies and private equity firms for maximum value. Greg is also an attorney experienced in corporate, M&A and technology law. An entrepreneur by nature, Greg has been a founder and investor in other private businesses and real estate.

Greg has founded and built independent information management, secure destruction and source code escrow businesses, which he ultimately sold to publicly traded companies. Greg is a frequent speaker on M&A, legal and business topics before industry and professional organizations including i-SIGMA, PRISM International and NAID and has contributed to information management industry policy and best practice initiatives. Prior to founding IG2 Data Security, Inc. (a records management, data storage and shredding company) in 2002, Greg practiced law with the firms Piper Rudnick (now DLA Piper) and Freeborn & Peters. Greg began his career working in accounting, finance and treasury for Kemper Securities, Inc., a major investment firm (now Wells Fargo Advisors) that was rolling up some of the largest regional brokerage firms in the United States.

A skilled negotiator and business strategist, Greg has advised domestic and international clients ranging from start-up and growth companies to publicly traded corporations. Greg has personally handled hundreds of deals with total values into the billions of dollars, including as the sell-side M&A advisor on some of the largest deals in the records and information management (“RIM”) industry. In addition, Greg’s deal experience spans a variety of industries including professional services, software/technology, data storage, manufacturing, distribution, construction, telecommunications, healthcare, biotechnology, financial services, education, major retail, entertainment, advertising, insurance/reinsurance, franchising, records and information management, shredding, recycling, real estate, commercial laundry/linen, textiles/apparel, transportation and logistics.

Greg has been featured in Fortune Small Business magazine and his businesses have been nominated for prestigious industry awards. Greg has served as an expert witness in high stakes business litigation.

Greg earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, his article on diplomatic relations was published in the DePaul Digest of International Law, and he completed a federal legal internship with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Greg is an active member of his community including as a parishioner at St. Isaac Jogues Church, a coach in youth sports, a judge at the Illinois Regional and State Science Fairs, and participant in philanthropic activities including Feed My Starving Children and local food drives. Greg is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacaranda of Naples Condominium Association, Inc. Greg lives in Hinsdale, Illinois with his wife and three sons.
